The painting, purchased during an auction at Finarte in 1991, already had the attribution to Boudewyns at that time. It is possible that, as in other works, the figures were made by Pieter Jans Bout (1640-1719), one of the closest collaborators of the Belgian painter. The pictorial surface, despite the parqueting, is in good condition except for a horizontal crack in the upper part of the painting which caused a thin line with the fall of pictorial material
Provenance: Finarte, 1991
