The intimate and refined portrait of a young girl, painted in the first half of 19th century, shows the distinctive traits of the Dutch artist, who perfected himself in Brussels under the guidance of Jacques Louis Davis: fluid management of the drapery and the angelic face show all the vigor and style of Jan Kruseman and the influence of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Amsterdam of which Kruseman was Director.
