The work is ascribed to the hand of the Flemish painter on stylistic grounds: the affinities with various works of the artist preserved in some Museums or that appeared in the past years on the antiques market are undeniable. In particular, the same treatment of lights as in the "Nature morte au coffret ร pin, coquillage et tapis rouge" auctioned at Christie's in 2016 can be seen, which inevitably defines the details as well as the imperfections.
The painting, in a 20th century frame, is in a good state of conservation, with small restorations scattered on the pictorial surface.
