Pair of Khula Khud and Sipar (helmet and shield), nineteenth century

Indo-Persia, Qajar dynasty (1797-1834), Mohammad Shah (1834-1848), Nasser al-Din. Forged and engraved steel with traces of silver damaging. Condition: very good. Khula-Khud with hemispherical cap, rhomboid section at the top cusp on knot and truncated cone base, sliding nose protection (missing screw), two lateral plumes, the surface richly engraved, carved and decorated with floral motifs and inscriptions. Complete with chain link made up of small simple closing rings. Together with its circular shield, convex in the center, with four studs with scalloped bases, the edge reinforced in brass; the whole surface is decorated en suite with the khula-khud, inside four rings for the missing handles.
