Of Neapolitan origins and pupil, among others, of Domenico Morelli, became the official portraitist of the House of Savoy, after having worked, among other cities, in Capri and Venice. The drawing presented here dates back to the Venetian period, where we see Caprile competing with a subject in which her more intimate trait stands out, especially when compared to the famous portraits of young commoners, predominant in her production. The proposed work falls with spontaneity and happy realization in the frankly popular portrait vein that characterizes all of his production. Signed and dated lower right "V. Caprile Venezia '98". Within frame.
