Consolle desserte, France, Louis XVI, late 18th century

86 x 106 x 46 cm
Made of mahogany, shaped and fluted form. One central upper drawer, top and lower shelf covered in white Carrara marble with gilt and pierced bronze railing. Chiseled gilt bronze applications. Four fluted feet joined by the lower shelf. Stamped “E. Avril” and stamp of the guild Maître French cabinetmakers “JME”.

Etienne Avril, Maître in 1774, known for producing Queen Marie Antoinette's apartment for the Château de Saint-Cloud.
