Morisot - Pair of andirons, France, second half of the 19th century

In finely chiseled gilded and burnished bronze, in the shape of children, in the act of warming themselves near the fire. Signature engraved on the side "Morisot".

Maison Morisot, located at 76 rue de Turenne in Paris, was specialized in the manufacture of fireplace accessories (especially andirons and spark guards). It exhibited from 1855 to 1889 and won several medals at the Universal Exhibitions.
