Composed of a corbeille sofa and two armchairs in gilded and richly carved wood. The sofa rests on six tapered legs with rough fluting, with an oval padded back and curved sides, with four orders of carving, acanthus leaves and buds. The pair of medallion armchairs rest on four tapered and fluted feet. Back, seat and armrests padded with green-grey silk upholstery with floral decorations and cupids. Stamped "Parmantier a Lyon" on the sofa and on one armchair.

A set of eight white and gilt painted armchairs and two sofas, circa 1780-1800, are in the Salon Louis XVI of the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, St. Jean Cap Ferrat (illustrated, R. Vian des Rives, La Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, Paris, 2002, p. 23).
Four armchairs and a sofa are believed to have been put up for sale by Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild, Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, 26 June 1924, lot 66, unsold.
